Brandon and his wife Marcela came to Mesquite in 2009, where they are raising their three beautiful girls Sariah, Skylar and Summer. Brandon loves to travel and spend time with his family attending their many activities such as ballet, gymnastics, choir and basketball to name a few. Brandon strongly believes in giving back to his community, and does so through local initiatives, school related matters, small business progression and serving on various community boards and commissions.
Brandon is looking to take his strong people skills, work ethic and progressive thinking to encourage members of our community to take an active role as accountability partners in improving the CITY of MESQUITE.


Brandon Murden is a graduate from the University of Houston-Downtown where he graduated with a BBA in international business and University of Dallas, where he graduated with honors with his MS in accounting and currently concluding his program tenure at Harvard Business School.


Murden’s career experience includes working in finance, accounting and strategy for start-ups, publicly rated Fortune and privately held companies. He has been instrumental in day to day operations, securing deals, mitigating risks, re-orgs, profitability and cost savings initiatives to name a few.
Brandon is also a business owner ranging from consulting, agriculture, sports league. He previously owned a gas station (where it was the only independently minority owned in the Texas region) and restaurant within the city of Mesquite where he helped try to transform the area by employing local residents, establishing a rapport that had previously been tainted and more so providing for kids and low income families with meals and needs.


Brandon Murden is a spring 2005 initiate of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., an active member of Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas Freemasons where he serves and has served in leadership capacity, currently serves as the VP of the Dallas Greater Southwest Black Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Board for the National Better Black Business Bureau, Board of Directors for Falcons Ridge - Mesquite HOA, Board of Directors 40 Miles Initiative (non-profit), Board of Directors Desert Sands Charitable Foundation (Prince Hall Shriners non-profit), Toastmasters International, City of Mesquite – Planning & Zoning Commission, City of Mesquite – Capital Improvements Advisory Committee.
